Proud
Her pride is worn like a crown and not in a bad way, most of the time. She loves to perform in front of large audiences and takes pride from it. It's something she likes to boast about, much to the dismay of others. If others tell her about their annoyance she will keep it to herself until the next big show. When her pride takes a hit, she would recover quickly, reminding herself that she didn't work this hard for nothing.
Temperamental
Maybe it's just the diva in her, but she can get very hot headed, very quickly and that not the greatest idea since she towers most creatures. Her crystals help intimidate others seeing that they are rather impressive looking and that they could possibly skewer someone. When she's in a fit, she is the most stubborn creature out there and everyone knows it, including her.
"People person"
From being a fortune teller in her earlier years of being in the circus, Delphi has picked up how to read creatures, whether it's from their palm or from their demeanour. It was really helpful during that time, being able to tell if they creature was a budding dancer or a skilled crafts worker. It was easiest to read humans, they bare themselves for others, from the way they dress to the calluses on their hands. It's quite easy for her and it did help with her job.
Elegant and Graceful
Both on and off stage the axis is graceful. There's no denying that. On Stage, Delphi is hypnotizing. She prowls around the stage with such cat-like grace that all eyes are on her. The bright lights make her gems sparkle with every movement that dazzles the audience. Sometimes there would be fog created at the beginning that would veil the stage with a mysterious aura that just makes Delphi more enchanting.
When she isn't performing, she holds her head high and winds through the crowds like a well-choreographed dance. Her paws guide her around the grounds sometimes there is a destination in mind, other times not. Either way, she sees and meets many strangers, most of their eyes follow her like a hawk. Her mutations are extremely eye-catching, so why not make it so it's a lasting impression?
Her First Act
This is the story of Delphi's first circus act. The day where she knew that she wanted to be on stage. To perform to bring joy and the praise of others. It all started when her parents took her to see the circus. She was a spry young thing back then, young enough that her crystals haven't grown larger that a centimetre or two, but she was just buzzing with excitement in line with all the other creatures. When they finally arrived at the ticket gate, she could already see the colourful tents and the many stands that filled the walkways. She could hear the laughter and the cheerful music, she could smell the sweet scent of sugar and butter. It was absolutely fantastic.
The memories were fresh in her mind like it happened just yesterday. Her family visited many tents, from the fierce lion tamers to the daring acrobats. Though, her absolute favourite was the magician's tent. Under the large red and white tarp was a stage with chairs surrounding the front half. The dark navy curtains hid the back of the stage. They didn't have to wait long for the show to start and by then, every chair was taken up and the atmosphere was surging with energy. A human woman stepped up on stage, she looked neither young nor old and she was in the standard magician's wear of a black tailcoat.
The first trick she showed required a volunteer. Naturally, Delphinium raised her paw and waved it wildly. The magician pulled her down and asked her to pick a card from the deck (she happened to pick the Queen of Hearts) and concentrate on the card, memorise that card, then rip it up! Delphinium obliged, she was confused, but she did what was requested. The magician showed the audience that the card was torn up into pieces and proceeded to throw it in the air like confetti. The pieces fluttered down and landed on her head, but they weren't pieces anymore, it was the complete card, the lines where it was torn, still faintly visible. Delphinium was in awe. The magician presented the card to the audience and called for a round of applause. She was astonished to hear that the audience were clapping for her.
Turning to the audience she did a bow. The magician gave her the Queen of Hearts and Delphinium returned to her seat, holding the card gently in her jaws. The show continued on with mystical disappearing acts, where the human-made tiny, white feathered birds disappeared, reappeared and disappeared once again! There were amazing levitating objects, such as a burning candle, a crystal orb and even a creature. The show left her dazzled and astonished.
The night started to blanket the land and the stars beamed brightly that night. After visiting a tent or two more, her family returned home. Delphinium truly hoped that she could visit the grounds again.
Misc
Quirk
It's a small little quirk and sometimes she doesn't even realize it's happening. She would subconsciously analyze people when she is nervous. It helps calm her down, taking in creatures' demeanor and piecing their story together. Sometimes they notice and strike up a conversation. She has met many great creatures and formed bonds that wouldn't have been made otherwise. When Delphi realizes what she was doing, it reminds her of her younger years. It gives her a feeling of confidence because she knows that all that work paid off in the end.
