Nymphidae | Nym for short | Male

Bright and Bold in everything he does

"Gather 'round kits! The fire is burning bright and I have a story to tell y'all" Announced Nym.

"Ooo tell us about the Butterfly Island again!"

"Ya! The giant man eating flowers were so cool!"

"Now I want to tell you all a new story this time you nuggets".

When I was a young boy, I joined a band of pirates, strong, courageous and bold. Everyone would cower with fear and awe when they heard our names, The Mortiers. We would sink ships as often as the serpents in the sea.

We were led by the lively Captain Levi Athen. Their wild mane grew so long, nearly every inch was braided, yet even that did not stop their hair from resembling the proud visage of a lion. Their left hind leg was wooden. How it got that way, the story changes every time someone asks.

Gnawed off by a shark said one, hacked off by a traitor another whispered, the Captain chopped it off themselves to get away from bandits screamed another.

They flew upon the ropes attached to the masts, I moped the poop deck.

"You said poop!" Giggled Aaron.

"Sush now and let me continue."

It was I who stood on the mast that fateful day. It was I who spotted the creature and it was I who sounded the alarm. The conch and the trashing waves seemed to be the only sounds for that single moment. I couldn't even hear the roar of the sea serpent at that moment.

The Captain lured the creature down and roped the creature's mouth shut. The beast reared its head and flung the captain up with it. Yet the captain held fast and found footing on top of the monster's head. The captain seemed untouchable in that moment.

The rope snapped not even a few moments later and threw the captain into its mouth. The Leviathan caught him by the wooden peg leg and his tooth got stuck, which was fortunate for the rest of the crew.

During that split second distraction, It was I, Nym who leaped off the mast and plunged my sword into its eye.

The crew was able to lasso the head and the mast monkey deftly climbed up to cut it's throat and the leviathan's head laid on the deck of our shambled ship.

Levi worked himself free and cut off the head of the mighty creature. The other deck swabbers had it stuffed and mounted for all to see on deck. The captain even kept the tooth that caught his leg as a good luck charm. It made quite a handy letter opener they stated. Each of the crew took spoils of the adventure. I took many opalescent scales and vials of the maroon blood. They say that you can summon the monsters of the deep if you drop a few drips of blood into the ocean.

Anyways, the next time we went to dock, we sold off the rest of the spoils and lived like royalty. I was promoted to third hand man who helped maintain the mast. It was a relief to be flying among the skies instead of mopping the decks.
