Personality;

Cunning
Always keep one eye on the two of them, since they may just slink off and find something of their interest. Shax can play people like a fiddle and can trick others in order to get what he wants. Sometimes it may seem like you are winning, but he can always find a way to turn the tables in his favour.

Academic
Besides being cunning, he is rather smart in many subjects. He can spew random facts on a whim when he needs a conversation filler. Though, Shax may not have as much time to read, he will definitely pick up geography, historical fiction, mystery, and numerous nonfiction books when he has time. He gets a lot of ideas from the material he reads, whether it is a strategy in a game or a manipulation of the mind.

Sarcastic
Whenever he can, Shax likes to through in some sarcasm and dark humor. It usually falls flat on others, which is disappointing. Most of the dolls he meets are knocked out anyways so he doesn't need to entertain them for long. Pyro gets his humor though and will answer with some snarky remark of his own.

Organized
Despite the cluttered appearance of the morgue itself, Shax actually keeps all of his records neat. Each is carefully filed away under trap and guard, encrypted in his own code for the few he decides to digitize, so only he and Pyro can access the files. A thorough check is done once every week to make sure all the information is safe. The data bank is his life's work and the root of his treasure pile, dolls can try to take it over his own dead body.

Shax and Pyro

Requiscat in Pace

Doll Name;
Shax Marcbana
(Shacks Mark-bon-a)
Shax was a demon in lore that was said to be deceitful and a masterful liar. He held the title of marquis (Marc) which I combined with Bana (death, devil murderer) to come up with the last name Marcbana.

He is usually referred to as Bana by the more unscrupulous kind.

Doll Gender;
Male

Shadow Name:
Pyro
I chose this name for two reasons. One, Pyro was a Prince of Falsehood, so what better name is there to match the King of Cheaters? The other was safety coffins. In the Victorian era, people in the coffins would be attached to bells in case they were buried alive. Other ideas for these safety coffins were pyrotechnics so it seemed like a cute name for him.

Job;

Shax owns a "morgue" of sorts, but instead of him keeping the dead, he takes in the newly alive. After shadows make deals with dolls, they are brought to his morgue for simple repairs and registrations. When the pairs enter, Shax finds out the information either from the shadow or the doll. There are many portals around the world and all lead to the Morningstar Morgue in the dollhouse. In the beginning it was quite difficult to track down new dolls and many slipped under his radar, but now it is common for dolls to register with him. If they don't dolls are sent out to find them and convince them to register.

Wait times may be long so dolls are put into a short stasis while they wait, and often do not remember their time there. Those who do, always love to drop by. Other dolls stumble upon the building with a feeling of familiarity and join Shax in a rousing game of cards if he isn't busy, which isn't often. It's a chaotic place year round, but it is enjoyable. Though his other job is much more exciting.

On the side, he deals with the underground folk. Since many dolls pass through his shop, others usually seek information. Shax does actually care about why they seek information and clients often pay a dragon's hoard worth of treasure. To keep this interesting, clients are challenged to a card game and he will indulge information if they can beat him. If they lose, they must pay handsomely either way and leave empty handed or with mere scraps of knowledge. It is usually the latter as he is known as the King of Cards - or the King of Cheaters, as others may hiss.

Pyro lounges on his shoulders when Shax plays cards against others.
Sometimes, he will sneak off to slip cards into Shax's hand and help him cheat. He may also look at the opponents' hand if they feel that their opponent isn't attentive.

Quirks;

Since the morgue is crawling with shadows, Shax tries his best to leave them undisturbed. He will do the ridiculous stepping motion over them, even though he's well aware that they can easily turn permeable. Pyro often ridicules him for it and may purposely try to fall onto them, even though he is also semipermeable. Thus, Pyro may try to trip Shax.

Favorite Possesion;

Every king must have their treasure, and Shax is no exception. One of his most cherished objects is his specially commissioned deck of cards. They are pristine and beautiful, sharp enough to cut a doll, but not scar them. He uses these cards when he feels particularly lucky. You see, this deck of cards is special because there are more than 52 cards, much more. There are 104 cards in the entire set, but no one knows that, except him, Pyro and the creator, who sworn to secrecy. It's one of the reasons why he wins so many games, and no one suspects a thing yet. His opponents merely thinks there are aces from their playing deck hidden in their sleeve.
